Question: Hello Doctor. I do have some questions to ask you. I was able to see Dr XXXXXXX who is an endo but requested thyroid peroxidose antibody which the result was 1. The anti globulin was a 2. My TSH IS .11. My LDH IS 229 Folate 889. I called my PCP to get these results the nurse was unable luckily the lady at front desk reluctantly provided these few results. My body is hyperthyroid but I feel very sick. Extreme pain. I asked to fax my Endocyrnologist the results yesterday but I haven't received a call back. My back neck knees are stuck. I feel like something is biting me on my extremities. I have to redo the nuclear medicine uptake scan due to that scan was taken very close to my CT scan. I was misdiagnosed with Hashimotos. Endocyrnologist says its Graves' disease. I don't kno how long I've had this. I haven't heard from any of my doctors and don't know all the results. Can you help me decipher the tests results?

Brief Answer:
Need Full thyroid profile and TRAB test

Detailed Answer:
Good day,

Noted your concern.
In one of your earlier question, the features were suggestive of thyroiditis. However, I must say that the contrast used for CT scan interfere with nuclear medicine uptake. The uptake will be low and reported as thyroiditis. If you have enlarged gland , protrusion of eyes and low TSH. All these points to Grave's disease. Once you have CT contrast, we have to wait for couple of months before we can re do the nuclear scan.

Another way to find out is by doing TSH receptor antibody ( TRAB) and Anti TPO antibody. Please get a full TFT also ( Free T4 and TSH). You may discuss with PCP or Endo about it. I feel it is logical to start on Methimazole in you,
Regards
Binu
