Question: Hi, there. My son was just born prematurely. We just had his X-ray, the Doctor says that he has increased lung markings. What does that mean? And what could be going wrong?

Brief Answer:
Please upload the reports.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. I need to know the age of your baby and what problems the baby was having. Although prematurity can lead to development of respiratory distress soon after birth due to poor lung maturity, it would be irrelevant if the age of the child is in months or more. If the child's age is more than a month, the child could have contracted a chest infection. I would request you to upload the X ray report. Based on that and the requested information I would definitely guide you further.

I will await your response.

Regards
