What Do The Following ECG And Chest X-ray Results Indicate?

default
Posted on Wed, 26 Apr 2017
Question: I have been ill for about 2 weeks now. I was told I maybe had the flu or a bit of strep.
I got worse and was given penicillin and then had blood tests that were OK apart from the marker for infection.
I was shivery and had chest pains so was given a ECG and Chest X RAY - I am waiting on these results.
Since the last 24 hours after feeling better I have now developed a very very sore and red throat.

What shall I do? why would this happen when I was getting better given I am also on the last 3 days of my pencillin!

Brief Answer:
This could be as a result of citalopram side effects.

Detailed Answer:
Hello! I have been through your question.

Related your concern I think that in this situation you should do a strep throat test and antibiogram( to see if the penicillin is resistant or not) and to exclude as well an mononucleosis (EBV IgM,IgG).

If your doctor exclude these above mentioned diseases I think that this could be related with the side effects of citalopram.
It is known that citalopram could have side effects like cold symptoms such as stuffy nose, sneezing, sore throat, chest pain, shivering etc.
So I suggest to speak with your doctor in order to decrease or stop the citalopram and to see if these symptoms fade.

I hope my answer helps you.
I wish you a quick recovery.
Regards.
