Posted on Thu, 27 Aug 2015
Question: Two things, the first being I can feel my heart beat in my head and where the back of my neck meets my skull. It does not hurt but it almost feels like it moves my head slightly. I blood pressure was 121/59 when I checked tonight. Also, I have been crying a lot lately and I have noticed when I try to take a deep breath, my breaths kind of jump, like when you cry and do the shuddering breathing.

Brief Answer:
May be a result of stress or thyroid dysfunction

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,

I would advise you to do thyroid tests, as such symptoms can be caused by thyroid abnormal function. If it comes back normal, then most probably there is a anxiety. Try to avoid stress, be much in fresh air, eat healthy food, do not smoke and drink coffee, exercise regularly. If it doesn't help then you should see a psychiatrist.

Wishing you good health

Okay. I am getting my thyroid levels checked anyways since I am currently taking thyroid medication. Also, I have been yawning a lot lately or having the urge to yawn even during the day when I'm at work. I also have a stuffy nose that alternates nostrils so there's only one at a time that I can breathe out of.

Brief Answer:
Welcome back

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,

If you have problems with nasal breathing, it can lead to low oxygen in your blood and thus yawning. I would advise you to see an ENT specialist.
If thyroid hormones come back normal, I think your complaints will disappear gradually if you follow healthy lifestyle and avoid stress.

Take care
