Question: I recently had cataract surgery and while in recovery I flat lined. Tests done in the hospital found Left ventricular moderate concentric hytpertropy and doppler parameters consistent w/abnormal left ventricular relaxation (grade 1 diastolic dysfunction), Left atrium moderately dilated, Impressions were hypertensive heart disease; LVEF=68%. EKG showed left ventricular hyperatrophy w/repolarization abnormalities, X-ray showed left base subsegmental atelectasis. My symptoms in tightness in chest like congested but lungs feel clear, I have dry coughing with no plemgh, always full, stomach is big, gained weight and unable to lose, left foot always swollen, shortness of breath and rapid heartbeat. I take digoxin and I had a K/P transplant in 2004. I'm having cataract surgery for my other eye and I don't want the same thing to happen. I also suffer from acid reflux disease. Some doctors say I had a problem with arrythmia, others that I suffered a syncope episode and others vasovagal episode. I'm really confused, can you please help me out? Thank you!

Hi again!

I just sent the files individually I'm afraid and there should be 21 pages with different reports.

Thanks again!

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,

After reviewing your data I would recommend to do the following examinations to find out what has caused syncope:
- Tilt table test
- Stress test Echocardiography
- Holter monitoring
- Cardiac CT angiography
- Lung CT scan

If everything is ok than you shouldn't worry it was just a vaso vagal syncope.

Hope this will be of help!
Wish you health!
