Brief Answer:
Indicates acute hepatic injury.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. A raised GGT level indicates acute liver injury which may occur due to alcohol intake. In such a case it is an warning sign and calls for cessation of alcohol intake. If that is not the case, please let me know what problems you had faced to make you get the test done, and I would guide you accordingly.

Kindly mention how long you have been taking Zoloft (sertraline) and Hydroxyz (hydroxyzine) and why.

I am the last 10 months used alcohol (beer only). 2 weeks ago the doctor gave me on Zoloft (sertraline) and Hydroxyz (hydroxyzine) for depression and anxiety and I stopped to drink alcohol.
Is there a possibility that, without the use of alcohol and start with a diet (healthy food) and natural way of detox can improve liver or I need to use some specific medical drugs,
Thank you for your answer

Brief Answer:
Just eat healthy. Abstain from alcohol. You will be fine.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for clarifying. After stopping alcohol it takes at least 6 weeks before the GGT levels come down. So it is possible that you had a much higher level of GGT earlier. Give it time and it should be fine back again and the liver recovers from the damage it has suffered earlier.

No medicines are needed for detox. In fact the medicines need to be metabolized by the liver, thus creating additional taxation on the liver.
