Question: Hi message is for XXXXXXX ...I would need a little assistance on re-evaluating facial ct and mri quickly.... i had some development regarding my case and diagnosed filiarisis.... i am being treated now.....i would like to revise my facial mri ct to make sure there is no sign of ophthalmic involvement / periorbital....Since i am having right ocular pressure, experiencing movement around the eye and having swelling and experiencing floaters.... i was diagnosed with mansonella perstans or dicofiliarisis D. repens as possible cause.... are you aware of any nodules or masses or sign of such thing ? Could my little 8mm calcification image that you pointed be related ? Thank you very much again for your help....

Brief Answer:
Please find details below

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. I have reviewed your earlier facial MRI and cannot find any abnormality in the orbits and eyes. I would like to know if you got any recent MRI of orbit done which I should look at. You have mentioned that you are having floaters, I would like to know if any ophthalmologist has seen you and
made any observations after seeing in to your eyes with a ophthalmoscope.

2. The calcification in the pelvis is not confirmed to be due to mansonella perstans infection. If it was in a more superficial plane then I would have thought of a dead worm getting calcified. However it is deep inside and less likely to be from a dead worm.

3. Swelling around the face might be due to mansonella perstans infection and probably you require medicines to reduce the swelling.

Please do send in any latest MRI scan should you have it with you.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
