What Could Cause Sharp Radiating Pain In My Left Lower Back While Recovering From UTI?

Question: I am currently taking ciprofloxacin for a UTI, I also take Carbidopa- Levodopa, Janumet, Lysinopril, Plavix, and Tamsulosin, the UTI seems to be clearing up, but I awoke last night with a reasonably sharp and radiating pain in my left lower back. Can you tell me what may be causing this?

Dear sir,

I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns but this could be due to a number of causes including spread of the UTI to the kidneys which can be diagnosed by an ultrasound pelvis and a urine analysis. An ultrasound pelvis will also help rule out the possibility of a kidney or ureteric stone.. If the pain is increased by eating then this could be due to pancreatitis which can be diagnosed by ultrasound abdomen or by a blood test to check the level of pancreatic enzymes which are elevated in cases of pancreatitis. Another cause could be colonitis which is expected to also cause a change in your bowel habits.
