What Causes Warm Sensation In Right Shoulder After Pneumonia Treatment?
Question: I am just over pneumonia in my right lung. I feel fine I am on benzonatate for a lingering cough. I just have a warm sensation in my right shoulder

First and foremost let me reassure you that there is absolutely no cause for concern.
If there is any involvement of the base of the lung by infective pathology like Pneumonia, it causes small amount of secretion of fluid in the pleural cavity (covering of the lung). This may cause irritation of Diaphragm ( muscular septum which separates lungs from abdominal contents). The diaphragm is supplied by Phrenic nerve which has the same origin from the nerve fibers supplying the area of the shoulder. The sensation which you are experiencing is just referred sensation. If there is no swelling of the joint then there is no cause for concern
It's quite commonly seen in individual recovering from Pneumonia. It requires no treatment and will resolve spontaneously in a week.
