Was diagnosed with restless leg syndrome being treated with Klonopine which I started a week or two ago

One possible cause can be 'anxiety'.
I suggest you to continue using Klonopin which also works as a good anti-anxiety drug.I am quite hopeful that your symptoms will improve soon.
