default
Posted on Tue, 16 Aug 2016
Question: Dear Doctor,

From past few months I frequently see food particles in my stool, especially I can see cucumber seeds, Okra, mustard seeds, red chilli & tomato skin .. etc. Whenever I eat spicy food I have to use toilet to free myself. My stomach is burning sometimes for no reason, every day while brushing I have to vomit the food I ate the last night especially when I eat omelt, carrot, broasted chicken and masala foods.

My muscles are becoming weak day by day, sometimes I face problems with my shoulder joint pains. I have lost motivation in life because of all these.

I have other problems like burning sensation in my arms & fee, muscle cramps, body weakness, backache, diziness & breathing problems

Kindly let me know the problem for all these issues....

Brief Answer:
As discussed in details below.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.
To recapitulate: Male/26 - few months - food particles in stool - stomach burning - vomit of food while brushing - muscle weakness - shoulder pain - lost motivation - burning sensation in arms and face - cramps - back ache - dizziness - breathing problems - also noted medication history and about homeopathy...

This is the severe form of indigestion and we have to find the reasons, hence I would advise you the following:
- Tests of blood: CBC, sugar, thyroid function tests, liver function tests; Vitamin D
- Tests of stool: for 3 consecutive days and urine tests
- Upper GI Endoscopy
- Barium swallow test to see for a condition called Achalasia Cardia
- CT scan of the abdomen particularly for hepato-biliary and pancreas and pancreatic enzymes digest the food and pancreatic insufficiency can cause similar problems.
- Clinical evaluation by a Gastroenterologist
- To take Pancreatic enzyme tablets with food, this will help digestion.
- Rest of the treatment as per the clinical findings and the reports of investigations.
- Supplements of multivitamins and Vitamin A and D in therapeutic dosages.
- Avoid all the food like tomato, skins of fruits and all the goods that are difficult for your intestines to digest. This is very important.

Please get all the things done above to get a proper diagnosis; this will help to have an add-on treatment for your to become normal and healthy as before.

I hope this answer helps you, please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.

Brief Answer:
As detailed below.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your feedback.
Noted the practical problem of not being in your own country.
You may take the following for burning in your abdomen : you will have to see if these are available as OTC in the country you are in otherwise may need a valid prescription.
- PPI like Omeprazole
- Antacid when on empty stomach.
- Pancreatic enzyme supplements to be taken with food.
- Multivitamins.

We can not say anything about seriousness unless you are thoroughly investigated.
