What Causes Two Painless Hard Lumps Under The Shin?

default
Posted on Tue, 26 Jul 2016
Question: My husband has just found two hard, XXXXXXX clearly defined and painless lumps under the skin on his shin. They are about a half inch apart and they're maybe 1/8 of an inch in diameter. What could they be? Should he visit his GP or his dermatologist about them?

I should mention that both lumps are flesh colored--they look exactly like the skin around them. And my husband has not injured his shins.

Brief Answer:
Fibromas

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am sorry to hear that your husband found some lesions on his lower leg. The description is that of a fibroma or fibrous tissue growth. It is not cancerous and will never turn into cancer. But since I can't feel the lesions I can't be for certain what these lesions are, therefore, I recommend you see your primary care doctor for evaluation. If needed he can then refer to dermatologist for diagnosis and removal if needed. Again i don't think this is anything to be alarmed about.

I hope I answered your question. Please contact us again if you have any additional questions
