What Causes Twisted Bowel And Left Sided Abdominal Pain?

Question: I have noticed that my stool is very twisted when it comes out. I have pain in my left side and though not eating much I am putting on weight. I do popp so do not think I am constipated. Any ideas?

Such symptom does not point to any specific disease. Left side abdominal pain (lower left) can be caused by diverticulitis.
AS you are over the age of 50, you should have large intestine checked. Please note that over 50 the risk of colon cancer rises. And any stool pattern change can point to this disease (however the risk is very low).
That is why I suggest you to have colonoscopy done.
In a meanwhile please start probiotic intake and fiber supplementation. This very often can help with such stool problems. However colonoscopy should be done even if this will help.
