What Causes Tingling Sensation Of Left Ear And Forehead Pain With History Of Ear Infection?

Question: Hi I had the ear infection 2 months ago, external aand now I feel tingling sensation coming from my left ear up to my temple, sometimes I feel like burning in my upper forehead, my ear feels like there is something in. I got infection after my doctor removed wax from my ear but pulled some skin as well.it feels like my left side from ear up is numb sometimes. It's not a typical pain, don't need painkiller.

1. This is a referred pain/sensation/neuralgia originating from the ear. This is because of common nerve supply to these areas.

2. Medication for neuralgias differs from routine painkillers.

3. First get the ear checked again for any new infection, granulation or scar. If there is nothing abnormal in the ear canal, you may wait and watch for a few weeks. If not, request medication for neuralgia (such as amitriptyline, carbamazepine, gabapentin or pregabalin). All these medications cause drowsiness, hence low doses may be taken at night.
