What Causes Tingling Sensation In The Back And Chest Area?

default
Posted on Thu, 12 Jan 2017
Question: I have tingling in my skin on my back and chest area . Not all the time. May only last 5 minutes or so or maybe a bit longer once or twice a day. Feels like someone ran a hair brush on my chest and back area. It is almost to the point of itching with the tingling. What do you think?

I am probably borderline diabetic although I do not take anything for it. No addictions . I do take generic Lexapro and Adderall for ADD. No high blood pressure

Brief Answer:
Fasting Blood sugar/HbA1c/Antianxiety

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for being in follow-up and providing further details.

Being a borderline Diabetic,I suggest you to get a repeat fasting blood sugar and HbA1C and if elevated start the treatment for the same, otherwise in long run,it may damage your nerves, kidney, retina.
Further, these symptoms may be due to anxiety and do not appear to be specific to any disease.I suggest to start doing mental relaxation exercises regularly like meditation/yoga and take mild antianxiety(like clonazepam) and observe the response.
I hope to see you improve soon.PLEASE TAKE MEDICINES UNDER A PHYSICIAN'S GUIDANCE ONLY.
Hope that helps.I shall be glad to have you in follow-up with further details.

Regards
Dr.Ajay Panwar,
