Question: Hello, last Saturday I took my son in to the ER because of a rash that he had. I had contacted you guys last week and the Dr. told me to take my son to the ER. They diagnosed him with Hives. They gave him the following while at the ER. SOLU-Medrol 125mg, Atarax 25mg, Pepcid 20mg. They gave me the following prescriptions to fill. Hydroxyzine HCL, Pepcid, and Medrol. Since last Saturday, my son has not gotten any better.
On Friday, when he woke up he said that his hands felt real tingly, couldn't breathe right, and felt like passing out. I contacted you guy's again, and the Dr. told me to go ahead and take him back in to the ER. While at the ER, they did absolutely nothing for him other than give him the following medication. 1 capsule Benadryl and 2 tablet Prednisone. They told me that there wasn't anything they could do for him there. I don't know what to do. I will try to get in with an allergist this week, but they have been completely full and haven't been able to see him. I don't know what else to do, I am worried about him.

Brief Answer:
Possibility of allergy is more.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
By your history and description, possibility of skin allergy is more.
So you should definitely consult allergist for this.
At present, along with current drugs, he should also start.
1. Anti allergic drug (montelukast).
2. Steroid cream for local application.
Also wash his night clothes, bed sheets, pillow covers etc. Use fresh things. Better to use cotton garments and bed sheets.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your son. Thanks.
