Brief Answer:
need urine analysis and likely antibiotics

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for healthcare magic

Burning on urination normally implies an infection of an aspect of the urinary tract. It could involve one or more areas. The urinary tract consists of the urethra, bladder, ureter, kidneys and prostate.

The infection may be due to a bacterial that is associated with routine urinary tract infections or it may be due to bacteria involved in sexually transmitted infections (though would normally have other symptoms such as a discharge)

Infection would also cause the discomfort that you are experiencing.

You would need to see your doctor so that a urine sample can be examined both in office and also sent to a lab. In the office the doctor will be able to analyse the urine to see if infection is likely but this needs to be confirmed by a lab.
The lab can identify the specific bacteria involved.

Antibiotics are usually highly effective. Your doctor will start you on a course after the urine is sent off to the lab.
If the lab report indicates it needs changing then this would be done.

Summary: symptoms in keeping with a urinary tract infection, need urine testing and antibiotics

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

Brief Answer:
should not affect fertility

Detailed Answer:
HI

There are tests that would be able to determine if an STD is present and there are very effective medications for treatment.

The only STD that would not present in this way are HIV and Herpes, these would also not be cured. They are not usually associated with discomfort on urination but when a person is doing STD testing they should test for all of them at the same time.

Once the infection is treated, it should not affect your ability to have children.

Please feel free to ask any thing else

Brief Answer:
still need urine check and medication

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Drinking water and other fluids would help but you would still need to see your doctor for a urine analysis and antibiotics if the infection is confirmed on testing. Unfortunately bacterial infections like these are not treated with lifestyle changes only.

Cessation of coffee, spicy foods and splenda would unfortunately not help in an infection

Please feel free to ask if there are any other issuses

Brief Answer:
depends on type of infection

Detailed Answer:
HI

Sorry about the late reply,

You can go on your own first, it may not be a bacteria associated with sexually transmitted infections. If it is then your partner would need to be treated.

If it isn't ( if one of the bacteria associated with the common urinary tract infections), then your partner would not need any treatment.
