What Causes Throat Pain With Difficulty In Swallowing After Taking Steroid Shots?
Question: As on my records I have statred taking the shots for RA on the 12th of July.. The nurse asked me if I had anything going on after the treatment. I told her my throst felt like it iws swelling. She said that is not a side affect. I left. Then my throat continued to hurt and was hard to swallow, then on July 28 I went to family dr. he put me on anitbotic for what he said was strep throat. I have cleared up some but still have some pain when I swallow. I was to take the 2nd shot on July 28 but they rescheduled it because of the antibotic. Then it is rescheduled for August 8th which is Monday. What do you think is going on in my throat. I have felt reallly tired and dont want to do anything since this. Do you have any suggestions.?

Well it may be simple sore throat that you are having and they postponed cimzia because it is immunosupressant and can make it worse . Its not a side effect of the drug but they are just being watchful . It also doesnt sound like allergic reaction also so I dont think there is anything to worry .
