Brief Answer:
Considerations

Detailed Answer:
hello and thank you for sending the question.

I am very concerned that your husband might be dealing with some type of cardiac dysfunction. With cardiac dysfunction it can cause congestion in the body which can lead to swelling of the legs.

The fact that he also has a significant associated fatigue is also concerning and I think he should be evaluated as soon as possible.

I would recommend that you call his primary care physician as soon as possible and schedule a consultation with physical examination. Your husband might need medications to help improve heart function and decrease congestion in the system.

Thanks again for sending your question. If his degree of fatigue or shortness of breath significantly worsened I would recommend that you bring him immediately to the emergency room for evaluation.

Sincerely,

Dr. Galamaga
