What Causes Swellinng Of Penis?

default
Posted on Fri, 11 Jul 2014
Question: My penis has swelled over the past two days and a very slight white discharge is evident. I was just tested for all STDs three weeks ago and all tests were negative. I am monogamous with my fiancé for the last 8 months and she does not appear to have any type of yeast infection. Could this possibly be a yeast infection? We have been engaging in anal sex without a condom so could I have contracted something this way?

Brief Answer:
may also be just due to the trauma

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank You for consulting HealthcareMagic!

It is possible that it can be a yeast infection but may also be a viral infection or bacterial. However, it may also be just due to the trauma during intercourse. However, a Physical examination is mandatory to assess this since there are variety of other causes that needs to be ruled out.

Moreover, some infection results may come positive very late than that of symptoms.

Thank you so much. I should clarify, I also had a physical last week and all blood tests came back in good order. One question I have, if it is viral or bacterial, would I not have a fever? As for trauma, sometimes I take 50mg of viagra before engaging in intercourse. When the swelling began, it was after I had taken the viagra and engaged. I have never had an issue with taking only 50mg in the past; although, I do not take often. Possibly twice, maybe three times a month. Is it possible taking the 50mg of viagra before intercourse may have led to the swelling? I should note, the swelling was minimal at first, then today, it appears to be a bit more.

Brief Answer:
not mandatory for the fever to be present

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

It is not mandatory for the fever to be present, if it is viral or bacterial.

Swelling of penis is not a commonly reported side effect of Viagra. So, it may not be the cause.

Take care!
