Question: I am prescribed Adderall 90mg per day. I have been on this dose about 2 years. I don't always take full dose. I take between 60-90 nearky every day. Over the past few months I have been getting severe swelling in my feet and ankles, Started in my left foot but recently is both right and left. I am 48 yrs old and I get regular checkups. I do not have any heart problems or high blood pressure and my doctor takes a urine sample when I see him so as of approx 6 months ago when I saw him, my kidney fxn was normal. Could the Adderall be causin the swelling after all this time?

Brief Answer:
Addderal could be the cause, reduce the dose, get assessed

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

i read your question and i understand your concern. Adderall is a stimulant used either for narcolepsy or ADHD. Now the use has been too much. No body prescribes above 60 as it is a maximum threshold. if any doctor has prescribed 90 mg per day, he has literally killed you.

Now the symptoms of these feet swelling for the couple of months could be pretty much attributed to adderall as it causes angioedema and vascular irritabilities.

Now the edema of feet has shown up, i would advise a repeat of all functions test and most of all reduce the dosage. It is maximum allowed to be 60 and that is a border line. I start my patients from lower doses of 20 and 30 per day and gradually take them up if need be.

Get to your doctor and let them take care of the symptoms and reshuffle the dosages.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

may the odds be ever in your favour.
