What Causes Swelling In The Ankles?

Question: My legs ankle up started swelling. My feet are about twice normal size. At the very beginning there is lot of discoloration around my ankle. This has gone on about 4 days. Today I woke up and my right hand is swollen about twice its size with some minor itching. What should I be looking for?
