Question: What is welling and tightness and some pain on the back of the knees. Shows up after long day or skiing.

Swelling,tightness & pain on the back of the knees after prolonged skiing may be due to
Posterior Cartilage/Meniscus Tear- can cause pain & swelling behind the knee.
Hamstring Injury: A tear in one of the hamstring muscles on the back of the thigh can cause pain and swelling on the back of knees.
Knee Sprain:Overstretching or tearing one of the ligaments in the knee can also cause pain & swelling behind the knee.
Ice,knee brace ,analgesic will help.
