What Causes Swelling And Bleeding In Gums?

Question: Dear Doctor,
I am facing some problem in my gum for last few days. Some of my gums are bleeding and also swelling. But there is no pain. I brushed my teeth twice a day. During brushing also I can see that there is some blood. Can you suggest me the appropriate treatment

please mention your age.
according to your description it is a case of gingivitis(gum inflammation).

The best treatment is to go for full mouth scaling (cleaning) of teeth and gums.

use a good antiseptic mouthwash
quit intake of tobacco in any form if having the habit.
use a soft bristles toothbrush.
Maintain good oral hygiene.

Dear Doctor,

Thanks for your reply. I am 26 years old. Can you suggest some medicine which can help other than Scaling. I don't want to do the scaling now. I did the last scaling 3 years before.

Detailed Answer:

Scaling can be done in 6 months to 1 year interval depending upon the amount of tartar and inflammation.

You can take a ofloxacin plus ornidazole like oflox-OZ twice daily for five days if not allergic to it. As these are prescription drugs you will need to see a physician before getting them.
Use a gum astringent or gum paint like Hiora GA(from Himalaya).
Use a mouthwash like clohex twice daily.
