default
Posted on Tue, 6 Dec 2016
Question: I woke up yesterday with severe pain in my shoulder. Took advil and last night took a tramadol. It really hurts right now so I was wondering if I can I take Advil? Took Meloxicam this am, and a Tramadol about an hour ago, but still in a lot of pain.

Brief Answer:
Muscle relaxant and a hot compress will help.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
A sudden severe pain in the shoulder that you have can happen due to inflammation of the rotator cuff. After taking Tramadol an hour ago, you can take advil but it is better to take a muscle relaxant like chlorzoxazone and do a hot compress in the area and see if it helps. Do give your shoulder a rest and avoid all overhead activities.
I hope this answers your query.
