What Causes Sudden Loss Of Consciousness, Nausea, Headaches And Excessive Sweating?
Question: my 17 year old daughter passed out on sunday. ever since she has been nauseous, pounding headaches, and off and on sweating spells. every time I check her temp it is normal

never hit her head. She has complained about a ache in her back about 2 weeks ago..saying it comes and goes. She said before she passed out she had that pain in her back. Today she said she had it again followed by intense warmth of her body.

The fact she hasn't hit her head doesn't mean much, the diagnoses I mentioned are not related to trauma. I didn't mention them as due to the loss of consciousness but rather as the cause for losing conscience.
The fact that she has had some other symptoms in the preceding days make subarachnoid hemorrhage less likely as it is a very abrupt event. That does lower the level of alertness and perhaps an over the counter painkiller like Ibuprofen should be tried before rushing to the ER. It is the best remedy for tension type headache which is often associated with increased tension in spinal muscles. However if symptoms persist I still maintain that she should be seen sooner rather than later.
