Brief Answer:
MAYBE WAX OR SUDDEN EXPOSURE TO LOUD NOISE

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Welcome to HCM.
This is Dr. Swarnava Dattagupta answering your query.

I understand your concern.
Sudden hearing of sound in one ear is called as unilateral tinnitus. The most common cause of it is age related which is found in old age. Also, sudden exposure to loud noise or collection of ear wax are very common causes of it. There are many more causes like impaired conduction or infective conditions but it would have other symptoms as well. So, ear wax or sudden exposure seems to be the probable cause in your case. The latter will be resolved on its own whereas for the former, don't manipulate, go to a ENT specialist for proper evacuation of wax. Any other chances will be also ruled out.

Hope I have answered your query.
