Provide more information.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to HCM.

Stomach distension, fullness with cramps could be related to dyspepsia or simple constipation or acute gastritis but it needs further evaluation by clinical examination and various tests to have confirmed diagnosis.

Here,we can say it as a simple constipation but before that provide me some more information.

1) Since when you are having stomach distention or fullness with cramps?
2) When you had your last bowel movement?
3) How many bowel movements you are having in a day or in a week?
4) Is there any alteration in stool consistency recently?
or what is your stool consistency like liquid or semi-liquid or hard?

Kindly get back to me with this answers,we will discuss this in details with your follow-up query.

Awaiting your response.

Brief Answer:
Constipation

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for the follow-up and sharing more information.

You are having constipation considering your hard stools and bowel frequency (2 times in a week) which are likely to be related to dyspepsia or acute gastritis as we discussed earlier here.

So,you will need some over the counter symptomatic treatment with dietary precautions which I have mentioned below.

1) Take plenty of water, foods like vegetables, fruits, and leafy vegetables on every day as it will make stool bulky and soft by retaining water in it leading to easy passage of stool.

2) Take stool softeners like syrup lactulose or cremaffin plus 3 TSF at a bed time to have soft and effortless bowel motions in the morning.

3) Take antacids like pantoprazole or esomeprazole (Nexium) before half an hour of meal with digestive enzymes (Unienzyme) which are available over the counter.

4) Avoid pain killers (NSAIDs) if you are taking, or doing so may cause further gastric trouble..

5) Take digene liquid or ulcero-protective agents (like sucralfate) 2TSF two times daily if you have the burning sensation or fullness in stomach.

Apart from medications you should also be careful with your diet which I have mentioned below.

- eat plain foods like boiled rice and green leafy vegetables without adding spices or oil. It will help to neutralize digestive acids and also they are easily digestible means there will be no need of extra stomach acid.

- avoid oily, spicy and fast foods

- avoid eating full stomach at a time rather have small meals frequently in a day.

- drink coconut water will help to reduce burning if you have.

- eat lots of fruits like banana and watermelon.

- avoid excess tea and coffee and drink plenty of water in a day which will maintain your hydration to avoid cramps.

- do morning exercises like walking or jogging which will reduce your stress level.

With all above medications and dietary precautions, you will start improving in 1 or 2 weeks.

In case,if problem persists even after that, then you will have to undergo some routine blood works and ultrasound of abdomen.

For which ,you need to consult gastroenterologist for detailed medical history and clinical examination to diagnose the underlying cause.

Hope this detailed information will be helpful and let me know if you have more questions.

Thanks and Regards
