What Causes Stabbing Pain In Mid Chest And Shortness Of Breath?

Question: 28 yr old female, diagnosed w RA 6 years ago. Medications: humira, methotrexate, prednisone

Experiencing pinching or stabbing pain in middle of chest near sternum along with a strange grinding sound when twisting upper torso accompanied with shortness of breath.

Is this cause for concern or normal?

This is mostly due to GERD.

Thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your concern.
By your symptoms and description, in my opinion, you are mostly having GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease).
Drugs you are taking is the likely cause for your symptoms, as these drugs are known to cause reflux disease.
But we need to rule out bronchitis first because RA can cause bronchitis.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done
1. Clinical examination of respiratory system
2. PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
If both these are normal then you are mostly having GERD.
