Brief Answer:
it might be premenopausal effect

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to healthcare magic.I understand your concern.
In my opinion menopause usually occurs at 47 years of age.3 to 5 years before stopping is called climacteric phase where in some changes occur and body tries to adjust to them.
One of them is menstrual irregularity.
It will be different in different people.Few experience less bleeding and gradually it will stop completely. And in a few there might be more or irregular bleeding before completely stopping as in your case.
Abnormal and irregular bleeding is also seen in:-
1)Thyroid abnormalities.
2)Uterine abnormalities like fibroids.
3)Dysfunctional uterine bleeding(DUB)-Here due to excess estrogen levels in the body endometrium ,the lining of uterus thickens leading to excess bleeding.
Mostly it might be a premenopausal effect. You can take tablet.Tranexamic acid 500 mg twice or thrice per day to decrease the bleeding.Take iron rich diet like dates, figs, green leafy veggies and liver and iron supplements to prevent anaemia and weakness caused due to irregular bleeding.
But I suggest you to consult a gynaecologist and get hormonal estimation like thyroid profile and ultrasound as it is always better to rule out any abnormalities .
Hope this satisfies your query.
Feel free to ask any more queries.
