Question: As part of my treatment of metastasized breast cancer that has developed primarily attached along the bone structure of the spine, hips, ribs, pelvises
I have metastisized breast cancer tumors attached to spine, hips & ribs. As part of my treatment, I'mtaking a variety of pain medications. Fentanyl(100mcg/h) Transdermal(1 patch every 72hours, Oxycodone ( 5-325MG) every 4hr. As needed, usually ,1am and 1PM, one Ibuprofen 600 every 8 hours as needed. I take OTC Intestionalstool softners rotated daily. Before meals, gas relievers, and as needed, mild women' s laxative.I have always had"stress" related problems (i.e.Diblating IBS attacks etc). The history has been for fifty years.
The reason for the lengthy inclusion, is recently, while I was sleeping, early Am hours, I heard a subtle "boiling sound. It did not fully awaken me. Even though, I wear adult diaper from many experiences, I continued to hear this bubbling now getting louder

My mind, in this early AM time, ran the gamit of similar sounds, at the same time I feel the inevitable.

My stool was bubbling hot and you cannot imagine.
In the day
In the days

that followed ,I confirmed the slow release of internal black tissue and several layer of external pelvic, inner legs and the external groin area

Brief Answer:
Don't seem harmful; but need caution...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I can understand your concern. But on most occasions those bubbling sounds are due to peristaltic movements of gut and are benign / un harmful symptom. Multiple uses of pain medications can cause gastritis and indigestion which might contribute to those sounds. I wouldn't be overly concerned if it is on one off incident (as per your description) and if you are able to pass stools. I might consider evaluating for electrolyte and metabolic conditions before referring for colonoscopy only if symptoms persist for days.

I am not sure if your last statement meant there are blackish tissues with peeling on the skin especially around the groin area. If this is what you referred to, then they have no relation to those sounds. The black tissue could be related to fungus and should be sorted by your dermatologist.

I can understand you are dealing with serious medical condition and these new stool features and the bubbling abdominal sounds are concerning you. As discussed, it most likely should settle down. So you need not be overly worried about. Watch over the problem for next few days. If it continues to bother you, your doctors may consider changing laxatives and testing electrolytes.

May God's blessing be on your side

Regards
