What Causes Sores In The Groin And Anal Region After Unprotected Sex?

default
Posted on Tue, 10 Jan 2017
Question: I have been having unprotected sex with a new partner for the last month. After having sex this past Saturday I noticed that I was sore and thought that was due to the sex. Around Thursday I noticed some sores in between my anus and vagina and swollen groin lyphnodes. I had been on my period and wearing pads which I thought could have been irritating it even more. I went to a med clinic and they ran the tests for Herpes which i am awaiting results and started me on valtrex. Does this sound like herpes or dermatitis? If it is herpes is this most likely my first outbreak from my new partner?

Brief Answer:
Herpes

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome
It is probably herpes since there are typical vesicles and dermatitis would have different signs. If this is your first outbreak ever, then this is probably new infection, caught from your last intercourse. It is not likely that you had it dormant before and that it has activated now. Wish you good health. Regards
