What Causes Sore Throat, Feeling Of Lump In The Throat And Abdominal Pain?
Profile: 32 y.o. Caucasian male. Healthy weight
Symptoms: Slightly sore throat for about 2 weeks. Slight feeling of something being stuck in the throat at times. Recent abdominal pain that comes and goes. I have a very slightly runny nose but that is usually always the case.
History: Smokeless tobacco (pouches) (~7-8 yrs). Just quit. Mostly moderate alcohol abuse when not deployed overseas (7-8 yrs. Deployed and dry ~30% of each year). Recently drastically cut back to within healthy limits.
I have been waiting to hear back on a referral to see an ENT
Thanks*
For the record, the sore throat does feel a bit different than the times I have had a sore throat in the past. Turning my head increases the sensation of the lump/constriction in the throat
Ugh, sorry. Also when I touch the side of my adam's apple it "clicks." Although the pain

Hi
Welcome to HealthcareMagic and thanks for putting up the query
From your complaints you are probably having gastritis with esophageal reflux. The pain abdomen is due to gastritis and the feeling of lump or constriction in throat is due to the acid reflux causing mucosal inflammation.
The crackling of throat cartilage is a normal phenomenon and nothing is to be worried about.

Hi
Thanks for the information
It doesn't seem to be a throat cancer at all. In the picture it looks like pharyngitis. Best would be to get an endoscopic examination of the throat done.
Ear pain is due to throat infection only.
Yes chronic reflux can lead to discomfort on neck movement also.
Take an anti inflammatory tablet twice daily along with an antacid once daily.
Take steam inhalation.
Use hexidine gargles.
It would take few days to be better.
Take precautions as mentioned earlier.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Thanks and regards

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Duration of 2 weeks goes in favour of acute infection only. The symptoms may take few days to disappear if medicines are taken with full compliance.
Still I will recommend to get a endoscopic examination of the throat done to clear any doubts.
Any further questions are always welcome.
Take care
