Brief Answer:
Snoring is multifactorial.

Detailed Answer:
Snoring is a disturbing sound produce during sleep.
Muscles of throat relax & cause partial obstruction during sleep which causes vibration of soft palate, base of tongue & pillars.
It is multifactorial, in your age it can be due obstruction at nose level ( DNS , turbinate hypertrophy) , at oral level due large tongue , tonsil , uvula , at neck level due thick neck ( > 42 cm) , laryngeal deformity. Other general reasons are obesity , alcohol , sedative ,hypothyroidism & excess tiredness .
It may associated obstructive sleep apnoea which present as day time sleepiness , morning headache , weakness .
To overcome it do regular exercise , weight reduction , avoid alcohol , sedative , sleep on side , check thyroid profile , also you need total ENT Head Neck examination to check for any obstruction at nose , throat & neck level.
Hope I have answered your query ,take care and have a nice day.
Regards
