Question: hi

I had a ureatha oppertion about 8 months ago it was a 8cm stricture and was repaied using my tounge

the last few weeks my flow rate has slowed right down and it doesn't feel like I am empting my bladder ....no pain just really slow

I don't really drink but last week I had a few beers for my birthday and my flow rate was really fast and felt great then next day slowed right up again

the problem is I don't think I can go and have the camera thing again in the penis as I am really scared to do it is there any other way they can check my urethra without doing that camera ?

I have read and understood your health concerns.

It is very important for you to maintain a proper follow up with your surgeon so that any problem if happen can be timely dealt.

There is a test called ASCENDING URETHROGRAM which can be done, it tells us about the urethra and any abnormalities if present. In this test XXXXXXX in injected in urethra from its tip and x rays are taken afterwards. It is less invasive that camera viewing .

Your surgeon will examine you and device strategy for you to proceed.
Hope it helps

Ok thanks

Is a slow flow rate anything to worry about as I don't actually have any pain?

Also why do I pass urine completely normal if I drink a few pints of beer it doesn't make sense?

Brief Answer:
need to assessed by urologist

Detailed Answer:

I appreciate your follow up.

The only explanation that I can provide is diuretic effect of alcohol. Beer and other alcohol induces osmotic diuresis which could enhance urine flow. But I expect the same to occur after excessive water intake.

Therefore in my opinion, it need to be quantified by urodynamic studies. Normal flow rate is 15ml per sec.
