Question: My nights and days are turned around this being my sixth full week on cymbalta. Get to sleep around 5-7 am and sleep until noon to 4 pm. How long until this abates, any suggestions? I am nearly 79 and was on prozac for 30+ years. Dottie Y. York, PA

Brief Answer:
It would take 4 to 6 weeks

HI
Thanks for using healthcare magic. I, Dr Abhishek Kapoor, would help you in this query.

Usually antidepressant like cymbalta takes 4 to 6 weeks to show response, but it is not a sedative antidepressant. If you have sleep disturbance, you can try low dose benzodiazepine like xanax or klonopin on sos basis after psychiatrist consultation.

In case, you need further help, you can ask.
