What Causes Skin Irritation When Diagnosed With Prostate Cancer?

Question: In Nov 2015, I was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer (metastisized to hip, shoulder & skull). My only option was hormone therapy, 45mg Eligard every 6 mos + 50 mg Casodex daily. Side effects I have experienced are weight gain (getting under control), minor joint pain on occasion, AND THIS IRRITATION ON MY SKIN AND SLIGHTLY INTO MY FLESH, MAINLY MY FOREARMS, HANDS, & FRONT OF MY TORSO. THIS HAPPENS ABOUT 6 OR SO TIMES A DAY AND LASTS 20 TO 30 MINUTES. IT BECOMES INTENSE MANY TIMES CAUSING ME TO CLINCH MY FISTS AND GRIT MY TEETH UNTIL IT SUBSIDES. I ASKED MY ONCOLOGIST AND MY UROLOGIST ABOUT THIS TO SEE IF THIS IS SERIOUS OR JUST SOMETHING i HAVE TO TOLERATE. Their responses were: they never heard of this, it's not from the medication, and they acted like I'm imagining this. I AM NOT IMAGINING IT! Do you have any info on such a side effect?

Brief Answer:
Methylcobalamine supplements should help

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on Health care magic.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concern. You seem to have developed peripheral neuropathy which is likely to be due to deficiency of a form of B vitamin called methylcobalamine. Taking methylcobalamine 1500 much daily capsule for at least a couple of weeks should provide relief.

Let me know if I could help further.

Regards
