Question: I just reached back with my left arm to get something behind the side of the couch and my shoulder hurt. I put some Biofreeze on it and I can move it. Can I have injured my shoulder or just a slight pull and if so what can I do for it???

I can scratch my back and lift my shoulder over head without pain. When I touch the back of my shoulder is a little sore. I used the Biofreeze and have no pain

Brief Answer:
I think it is a muscle sprain

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and I think that you are having shoulder muscle strain. It does not look like a serious issue. So I would suggest you to apply Ice and take Ultracet or Brufen tablet after discussing with your doctor.
You should avoid movements at shoulder. Voletran ointment can also be applied.
thanks

I was reaching for something and now the knuckle on my right thumb in the joint hurts. Could that be arthritis? What can I do for it. I can bend the finger but when I press on my knuckle it is sore.

Brief Answer:
It can be a sprain

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Arthritic pain does not start suddenly, so I do not think that it is arthritis. I think it is more of a sprain of thumb muscles. I would recommend you to apply ointment like voletran. I would also suggest you to take Brufen tablet for pain relief if pain is very bad.
thanks
