What Causes Severe Tingling Sensation Throughout The Body, Hot Flashes And Swollen Lips?

default

Question: I experienced all over body tingling - that is like pins and needles all over my body. My skin turns red all over, my lips swell as though I am having an allergic reaction to something. I was not bit by anything, I don't have food allergies or medicine allergies. I feel as though I am having a hot flash, then it turns into this pins and needles. My lips swell and last night I felt faint. I also felt as though I was going to throw up. This is not common for me at all. Additionally, this has happened probably 3 times in the past year. Each time it is getting worse and more symptoms present. The nausea is new. Once I was able to stand and walk back to bed I was overcome with severe chills. I felt as though I was hot and should be sweating, but I wasn't. I am 49 years old and I thought that the hot flashes and these outbursts were part of menopause, but last night was a little scary then the other episodes.

Brief Answer:
Yes possible menopause outbursts.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Tingling, hot flashes and swelling of lips may be caused by outbursts of hormones imbalance due to menopause, so I don't think this is a new concern, but only episodic worsening of menopausal symptoms.

Light-headedness and nausea, since these are episodic symptoms too, ( i. e. only few times a year ) may be related to significant changes in blood pressure during these menopausal outbursts.

These symptoms may indicate other conditions ( such neurological ones ) if they last in time, are more frequent and are accompanied by other neurological signs.

If I were you, I shouldn't be worried much more than necessary, an evaluation about blood pressure trend during these episodes and a discussion with your primary care Doctor about possibilities of hormones replacement therapy in order to ease these symptoms is sufficient.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Kind regards.
