Question: My throat hurts very bad, almost has a burnt feeling to it. Very hard to swallow. Runny nose
My ear is sore, also

First of all, it is sad to know what you had been experiencing lately.

Based on the history you have shared, it seems as if you are suffering from an acute attack of upper airway infection which is mostly viral but can have have primary or secondary bacterial element too.

First of all, few measures which will help include using anti histamines like cetrizine or loratidine alongwith nasal decongestant sprays. It will help with symptoms related to ear and nose in your case.

Steam inhalations and hot beverages may help too. Avoid using cold drinks and oily or greasy foods as well as direct exposure to cold. OTC analgesics like acetaminophen will also help with systemic symptoms.

If fever or other symptoms worsen, consult an ENT specialist and if needed rt blood counts done alongwith Xray Paranasal sinuses to decide whether to be started on antibiotics like augmentin or azithromycin.
