Question: I have been having stomach pain (bloating) and pain around my back. Went to the ER last week as my Doctor diagonized it as probably appendix or kidney stones. Blood work urine and abdomen scan came up negative and I was given a pain killer. I still have numb pain and bloating. I have been taking Prilosec and some antaacids Feel slightly better but I still have the pain in my stomach and around my back. I have blood pressure and take lisnopril 2.5 but of late my pressure seems to be high and I take two . Feels like my pressure is always elevated and don't feel relaxed I don't sleep soundly as I used to. There is no worries or stress in my work or personal life. Have stopped coffee and any liquor for the past 10 days. Pain in the stomach has been constantly mild but increases when pressed slightly.
What could be wrong?

Brief Answer:
Blood tests needed to exclude pancreatitis

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on Health Care Magic.

I have gone very carefully through your complaints. The exact location of the abdominal pain is very important.

For example, the pain of appendicitis is located in the lower right of the abdomen and there should be a tenderness as well. Going by the description, there is a possibility of muscle spasm being a cause.

Pancreatitis is another cause to be excluded. Blood for lipase and amylase are to be checked for the same. Another possibility is gastroesophageal reflux which occurs when the stomach acid regurgitates to the lower portion of the food pipe. A clinical examination would yield valuable clues but that is clearly beyond the scope of this online discussion.

Blood pressure can be eased to a significant degree by lifestyle modification.

As of now, regular morning walk and restriction of salt intake are the first things that are essential. This needs to be backed by regular medication.

Let me know if I could help further.

Regards
