Question: Pain in right hand, severe. Seems to be getting better after taking an oxycodone and 2 aspirin. Also needed to take a Zofran to relieve nausea created by pain. Hand is slightly swollen and palm of hand (by thumb) appears to have a raised horseshoe shaped vein.

Brief Answer:
Sounds to me like all your symptoms are related to CTS (carpal tunnel)

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. I should start by saying that about 5% of the population suffers from arm pain which is related to carpal tunnel syndrome. Pain in carpal tunnel syndrome can occur in:

+The wrist
+Palm
+A few fingers
+The forearm

There can also be numbness, weakness, and tingling sensation which is predominantly present during the night (more during the night), as compared to the day time.

Treatment approaches usually include:

+Wearing a wrist splint which restricts the movements at the wrist and the fingers, allowing them to rest
+Physical therapy
+Steroid injections
+Pain management medication (orally)
+Resting the entire arm altogether, but mainly the affected wrist and fingers

That is what you need right now sir, but please do visit your doctor so he/she can help prescribe you the medications you need and also care for you as you need it. I hope you find my response helpful. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.
