What Causes Severe Ear Pain And Cold?

default
Posted on Fri, 5 May 2017
Question: I have had ear itching and clear fluid draining from left ear for two months. I went to my Doc and was told that it was probably irritation or allergies. I had a cold 10 days ago and now have ear pain and pain just between my jawbone and earlobe. I have seasonal allergies that are really bad right now,,, spring. I just am concerned about the increasing pain. On a scale of 1-10 the pain is a 3. It is not so bad but mostly annoying. Thanks for giving me info:)

Brief Answer:
Chronic otitis media

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to HealthcareNagic and thanks for putting up the query
You are having middle ear infection and now there is probably a perforation in the tympanic membrane due to which ear is draining.
Take an oral decongestants and oral antibiotic
use antibiotic ear drops and nasal decongestant drops
keep the ear dry. Avoid swimming.
Take paracetamol for pain.
The ear will take few days to dry.
This all happened as a sequelae of nasal infection and eustachian tube blockage. Take steam inhalation. That will help in faster healing.
Any further questions are always welcome.
Take care
Thanks and regards
