What Causes Severe Chest Pain In A Diabetic?

default
Posted on Mon, 28 Aug 2017
Question: My father is 65+. He just mentioned about the chest pain just before having dinner. He told he was not feeling like having food as well. He thought it might be due to gastric and took Rantac tablet 💊, had food and is sleeping now. He has BP, Diabetes and they are normal. He takes tablets regularly. Do you foresee any issue with that chest pain doctor? We don't have food in time and hence he thought it might be gastric.

Brief Answer:
We can't just ignore any chest discomfort at this age

Detailed Answer:
Hello

After going through the medical details provided by you of your father I understand your concern and I would like to tell keeping into consideration the age and other comorbidities like Diabetes and Hypertension any kind of chest discomfort should not be ignored and should be evaluated. Although it can be due gastritis due to irregular eating habits but cardiac cause should be ruled out.

It's advisable that you should personally consult a cardiologist and get one ecg and Echocardiography done

I hope this information will guide you properly.

Kind regards
