What Causes Ringing In Ears And Dizziness After Stopping Patches For Smoke Addiction?

default
Posted on Mon, 5 May 2014
Question: I have been using the patches to stop smoking. I successfully completed the regimen in about 7 weeks. Now I have not been wearing a patch for approx. 1 week. During the last week of wearing a 7 mg patch and since I have gone off patch completely, I have begun to experience ringing in both ears and a kind of pressure or dizziness in the area of my temple. Is this a normal withdrawal phase?

Brief Answer: yes it is Detailed Answer: Hello, Thanks for choosing health care magic for posting your query. I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through. Ringing in ears and pressure over temples is part of the withdrawal symptoms. It happens to many smokers who stop smoking. There could be many other symptoms as tremors, tingling in limbs, nausea, smnolence etc.. Now that you are off the patch since 7 days, it may take 7 days further to get yourself recovered from this withdrawal. Meanwhile drink plenty of water and get your blood pressure examined. Sometimes there is a shoot in bp during withdrawal which can present with similar symptoms. Hope I am able to answer your concerns. If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you. If not, you may close the discussion and if possible you may rate the answer for me, so that I get a good feedback.
