What Causes Right Abdominal Cramps During Ejaculation?

default
Posted on Tue, 12 Jul 2016
Question: I am a 65 year old man. Yestuerday, while I was masturbating I experienced an extremely painful cramp in my lower right side at ejaculation. In the area where my scar from an appendectomy is. Had my appendix out when I was 10. The area is still a little sore. Is this something to worry about. Afraid to masturbate if it's going to be that painful.

Brief Answer:
I do not think you need to be worried

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Health care magic.
I read your query and understand your concerns.

Occurrence of painful spasms is mostly idiopathic and no serious pathology attributed to such occasional spasms no matter how severe they are. In other words it can be said that it was just an co incidence that spasm happened while masturbating and no relation can be established.

The chances are more as the area is scar which is little sore which indicates that nerves supplying this area are sensitive.

I think it is better to stop worrying and if it recurs go for pelvic sonography to rule out an stones either in bladder or ureter as this is the most likely pathology for recurrent pains of spasmodic nature.

I hope this answers your question.

Still quite sore in the area where my thigh and abdomen join. Deep sorness. Yesterday's incident felt like a possible blockage occurred somewhere in there. Could this be symptomatic of a hernia, or some kind of blockage?

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,
Thanks for reverting back to me.

Although sharp spasmodic pain could be presentation of hernia but the possibility is very low. In hernia most often there is dull aching pain and almost never spasmodic. In addition the pain occurs when there is increased pressure in abdomen such as coughing, sneezing, lifting weight and I do not think masturbation can cause that increased pressure.

The possibility of obstruction is there due to some ureter stones and that why I asked you to get ultrasound of abdomen and pelvis.

I hope this assists you further.
Thanks and regards.
