What Causes Recurring Bumps On Inner Buttock Cheeks?

default
Posted on Fri, 13 Jun 2014
Question: Hello. I get recurring bumps on my inner butt cheeks sorta near my anus. They are soft and will fill with blood. It'll eventually pop and go away for a while but always comes back. I've been too embarrassed to ask anyone about it. I sit at a desk all day and I'm wondering if that's what causes it? I don't know if you'd consider it an abscess or cysts or what? Any thoughts?

Brief Answer:
These are abscesses/furoncles!!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these repeated furoncles that you have been experiencing. I understand how embarrassing this can be. However, there is no shame in being sick and talking to your doctor about it. This would help in resolving the problem rather than shying away and dying in total silence.

From the description of your symptoms, these are small collections of bacteria infection. They pop but the germs never get completely eradicated from the site. this provides for future recurrence of the symptoms. I will recommend that you report this to your doctor for examination and management. This will ensure that the site is completely cleared of the germs to prevent recurrence.

Sitting at the desk daily is not a cause of this. However, poor hygiene can favor similar infections. I will like that you re-evaluate your hygiene practices and adjust if need be. Sitz baths( sitting 15mins 3time daily in a bowl of lukewarm water containing an antispetic like iodine) would ensure proper cleansing of the anal area.

I hope this helps. I wish you well and thank you so much for using our services. Feel free to ask for more information and clarification if need be.
