What Causes Recurrent Ringing Of Ears And Foul Smell In Mouth?

default
Posted on Mon, 2 Feb 2015
Question: I know this will probably sound weird but here goes: I am having a recurring couple of symptoms. The first one is with my ears. They ring all the time. That is not new I believe it is related to my taking Arthrotec since my mid 40's. I am now 63. For the past three weeks approximately hearing in my left ear will become muffled and at the same time extremely sensitive to loud noises like dishes knocking together or silverware banging together. It usually gets back to my normal within a day. A couple of weeks before Christmas I started having this terrible taste in my mouth. It makes almost all food and drink taste horrible and on occasion gets so bad my mouth and throat feel like they are burning. I have stopped taling iron and every now and ten there is a day when it stops for awhile only to return. Right now I have a sick feeling in my stomach and will go drink some milk in hopes of putting out the fire. What should I do?

Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

Noise in ears with episodes of sharp one may be related to damage of hearing nerves by drugs side effects.

Your hearing and ears functionality firs needs a evaluation and measurement by a ENT Doctor.

About your symptoms of sick stomach, burning and bad taste, they may be related to probable gastroduodenal ulcus.

There is need for a fibroscopic evaluation of your esophagus, stomach and duodenum.

Only after these two evaluations are carried out, we can have a clear evidence of underlying causes of your concerns and treatment strategies.
