What Causes Recurrent Lower Right Quadrant Pain Every Night Since The Current Month's Menstruation?

Question: Have lower right quadrant pain that began the day before period started 3 1/2 weeks ago. Period lasted a few days. Pain continued after period ended. Pain is mostly at night, is achy rather than crampy, and is not severe. Had ultrasound 16 days after period and pain started. Found no cysts or masses, normal cervix, no free fluid in cul-de-sac. The only problem was found in the endometrium.
"ENDOMETRIUM: The endometrial complex is within normal limits for age and measures 4 mm in size. Endometrium in the lower uterine segment is slightly prominent and echogenic and measures up to 6 mm."
"IMPRESSION: Mild prominence of the lower endometrium which is echogenic as well. This could represent blood in the endometrial cavity. If the patient has menstrual problems follow-up could be performed."
What does this mean?

Brief Answer:
Can be normal variation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Endometrial thickness of 4mm and 6 mm are normal. The mild prominence of the lower endometrium can be a normal variation or mild old left over blood from the previous menstruation. In case there is a persistent bleeding or spotting then this may be the cause. This may go away on its own after the next periods. This is not worrisome.
I hope this answers your query.
