default
Posted on Wed, 23 Nov 2016
Question: I have had 3 bouts of intense nausea and vomiting in the last month. Each time lasted for 24-48hours. No other symptoms such as fever/flu symptoms or diarrhea were present. First bout was treated in E.R. with anti nausea medication and IV fluids for dehydration with no diagnosis. Second and third bout were treated with OTC medication for vomiting. Not pregnant

Brief Answer:
Supportive care

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. Recurrent episodes of nausea with normal work up and supportively treated are likely gastric discomfort. Gastritis, acid reflux and functional bowel disorders like irritable bowel syndrome are likely suspicion. It could be some dietary trigger like too much caffeine, tea, soda, beverages, alcohol , chocolates, spices, processed canned foods in your diet. Eat small frequent meals, reduce dairy products, avodi above mentions dietary food triggers. Take more fluids and fibers, fresh fruits and vegetables use will help.

I am sure diet and lifestyle adjustments will help. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

Khan
